Delhi’s Air Quality has improved significantly, leading to the lifting of restrictions under GRAP-3 (Graded Response Action Plan 3). The restrictions were implemented on November 15 2024, when Delhi’s Air Quality Index became hazardous crossing the threshold of 300.

The lifted restrictions include a ban on construction and demolition activities, restrictions on non-essential vehicular movement, and shutdown of certain industry and power plants. The improvement of Air quality index has brought a wave of relief over the citizen who can now breathe easier.

The commission for Air Quality Index oversees the implementation of GRAP, a part of a tiered system to address air pollution in Delhi and it’s surrounding regions.

While the lifting is a positive step towards improving the city’s air quality , residents are still advised to be careful and minimize their exposure to pollutants.
