Delhi woke up to a refreshing light rain on Friday morning, bringing relief from the chilly winter weather. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts thunderstorms throughout the day, with a forecast of “thunderstorm with rain” for Delhi on Friday and Saturday.

The temperature in Delhi has dropped, with the lowest recorded temperature on Friday being 12 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature expected to be around 20 degrees Celsius. The rain has also brought down the pollution levels in the city, with the air quality index (AQI) improving significantly.

Residents of Delhi welcomed the rain, saying it has made the weather pleasant and reduced pollution levels. “The weather has become good and it feels like Kashmir,” said Deepak Pandey, a local resident. The IMD has also predicted cold wave conditions in northwest India this week, with heavy showers expected in Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
