The crash between an Army helicopter and a passenger plane during the landing at Ronald Reagan National Airport outside Washington on Wednesday night prompted inquiries from US President Donald Trump.
The aircraft, which had four crew members and sixty passengers on board, crashed into the nearby Potomac River after colliding with the US Army helicopter. The Army helicopter carried three people.
According to a police officer, emergency personnel have recovered at least 18 dead from the Potomac River after the crash, as reported by CBS News. So far, no survivors have been located.
Trump questioned the strategies of the air traffic controllers and the military helicopter, two organizations that answer to him as president, in a post on Social Media.

“The aircraft was approaching the airport in a precise and standard path. For a long time, the helicopter was aimed directly at the aircraft,” Trump wrote.
“It is a clear night, the lights on the plane were blazing, why didn’t the helicopter go up or down, or turn. Why didn’t the control tower tell the helicopter what to do instead of asking if they saw the plane. This is bad situation that looks like it should have been prevented. Not good!!!”, he added.
