Yesterday, External Affairs Minister of India S Jaishankar emphasized India’s expanding influence in the international sphere and the necessity for enhanced global partnerships in light of a turbulent global economy at CII Partnership Summit. He also discussed India’s economic growth, the challenges presented by emerging technologies, and the nation’s initiatives to bolster its manufacturing and infrastructure capabilities, positioning India as a stabilizing force and a crucial contributor to worldwide economic development. MEA Jaishankar further highlighted the significance of domestic progress to enhance India’s credibility and attract international collaborations.

Referring to the Indian economy, he stated, “India has advanced to the fifth largest economy in the world and continues to grow, necessitating more substantial partnerships. Our global stakes have increased, our responsibilities have expanded, and the expectations placed upon us are greater. The argument for fostering international relationships is accentuated by the current state of the world economy. In this era of volatility and uncertainty, India can serve as a stabilizing element. We are capable of contributing to global growth engines and advancing technology.”

Jaishankar further said that enhancing international partnerships necessitates the development of domestic capabilities. “The more we enhance our abilities, broaden our capacities, foster innovative talent, and expand our skill sets, the more appealing we become as a partner,” he emphasized.

He identified a key challenge as the need to elevate India’s manufacturing sector to build credibility internationally. “The Indian government has greatly facilitated this transformation by addressing long-standing issues related to infrastructure and logistics. The current speed at which we are constructing railways, roads, ports, and airports is recognized even beyond our own borders. Certainly, the integration of Gati Shakti, coupled with efforts to simplify business operations and improve living conditions, has had a synergistic effect on our business environment,” the EAM stated.

Regarding India’s cultural importance, he remarked, “India is continuously broadening its economic, political, diaspora, and cultural influence worldwide. We understand that the global perception of India is shaped by real experiences, whether from individuals, corporations, or organizations. Partnerships formed abroad will only be as strong as those cultivated domestically.”
