Australia government banned Social Media access for children under 16. Reacting to this, US billionaire Elon Musk, owner of social media platform X, has condemned this law. He said that there has to be an alternative to handle this and make the net available to all Australians.

Australia’s center-left government introduced the bill in parliament, laying out the design of an age-verification system. This will enforce the decision to stick with the bill. The companies, if found to be involved and in case, breaches the contract, could face fines of up to A$49.5 million ($32 million). The government said that this is done to safeguard children from negativity, and there are more chances of being influenced at a young age.

Few other countries follow the same, unlike Spain , where the restricted age is 15. However, with parental guidance it is a must. Also, US which restricts to 13 yrs. and recommends parental grant too.
