A recent Wall Street Journal issue has revealed that Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s public approval has suffered a drastic fall since he became an adviser to Donald Trump. The majority of the US population believes it’s a bad idea for the Tesla CEO to serve as an adviser to the president.
The Wall Street Journal conducted a poll between January 9 and 14, surveying around 750 registered voters, and found that 50% of respondents found Musk’s role as Trump’s adviser degrading to his CEO position, while 39% believed it was a good idea. This represents a significant drop in Musk’s favorability rating, which was higher in October before presidential elections.
Despite the decreasing public support, Musk seems to be strengthening his influence within Trump’s administration. Reports suggest that he has been granted a private office close to Trump’s office and a White House email address, even a security badge granting him easy access to the White House.
The poll’s findings indicate the ongoing debate surrounding Trump’s policies and Musk’s influence within the administration.
