Following the ongoing excavations in Sambhal, former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and the National President of Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday mocking the excavations claimed the Chief Minister’s house of having a ‘Shivling’ beneath it.
He claimed that excavations should take place at the Chief Minister’s house since it has a ‘Shivling’ beneath it. He said, “We believe. We have faith that there is a Shivling there and we all should prepare to excavate it.” He urged the journalists to lead this and said, “I would like to tell my fellow journalists to go ahead and we will follow behind because I will not let you turn back.”
On Sunday, the District Magistrate of Sambhal, Rajendra Pensiya confirmed the discovery of a stepwell stretching over an area of 400 square meters. The structure encompasses four chambers made of bricks and marble and is believed to have been built around the time of the grandfather of Belari’s king.
The Samajwadi Party is against the ongoing excavations. Akhilesh Yadav had mentioned earlier that digging these places is not going to let anyone to any solution. He further claimed this to be a violation of the Places of Worship Act which prohibits these things..
