Farmers from Kisan Mazdoor Morcha and Samyukt Kisan Morcha sitting at the Shambhu border since February 13, have decided to march towards Delhi again today, marking the next step in their ongoing protest. This time, the march will be conducted on foot, led by a delegation of 101 farmers, as announced by farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher.

Farmers’ protest at the Shambhu border in Haryana has turned violent. Police fired tear gas shells to disperse protesters attempting to march to Delhi. The situation remains tense with regular clashes between farmers and authorities. Farmers from various regions, including Sirsa, Hisar and Ambala, are participating in the march, demanding MSP guarantees and justice for Lakhimpur Kheri victims.

Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said that 16 farmers were injured in recent clashes, with one losing his hearing. Pandher claimed that farmers have received no communication from the government. “This protest has exposed PM Modi’s true face,” he said, adding that while tractors and trolleys are no longer being used, they continue to face restrictions.

Pandher claimed that farmers are not being compensated for the losses incurred by crops. “They are announcing MSP, but the whole situation is confusing and lacks clarity.”

Despite the heavy barricading by Haryana police at the border, the farmers are determined to proceed, expressing their dissatisfaction with the restrictions. In response to the protest, internet services in Ambala are suspended until December 9.

Security has been tightened, with police saying they have sufficient forces to manage the farmers. Heavy barricading was set up, and the Ambala administration prohibited gatherings of more than five people.
