A Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) train went into flames in Pennsylvania, on Thursday prompting the evacuation of all 350 passengers.

The six-car train was running from Philadelphia to Wilmington when the fire originated beneath the first car of the train at around 6 p.m. local time in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, located 21 minutes or 16 miles from Philadelphia.

Following reports of a fire, the passengers were immediately and safely evacuated. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and crew members are scheduled to be interviewed.

Services were temporarily suspended on the Wilmington/Newark Regional Rail Line leading to a halt to SEPTA and Amtrak’s operations before it resumed later that night. Evacuated passengers were assisted with SEPTA buses.

The US has experienced multiple transportation disasters in recent days, including a fatal mid-air collision in Washington, D.C., and a Medevac Learjet crash in Philadelphia. On Friday, a Bering Air plane carrying 10 people also went missing near Alaska.
