A deadly missile attack on the town of Rylsk in Russia’s Kursk region by Ukraine has claimed 5 lives leaving 12 people wounded.
Alexander Khinshtein, the acting Governor of the Kursk region accused Ukraine of using the US-supplied HIMARS rocket systems in this attack. She said that a fitness complex, a cultural center, schools, and homes had been damaged in this attack. Videos of the attack are going viral on social media showing debris scattered on roads, windows of buildings being blown out and cars being on fire.
The attack is believed to have come after the attack by Moscow on Kyiv. Ukrainian officials have accused Russia of launching fresh missile attacks on Kyiv earlier. The attack has damaged buildings facilitating several embassies. However, Russia claimed that the attack was a retaliation against the strike by Ukraine using Western Missiles on Russian chemical plants earlier this week.
Maria Zakharova, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman has informed that Moscow will raise this attack at the meeting of the UN Security Council on Friday.
