Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, with Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi offered their condolences to Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh at his residence in Delhi. The 92-year-old architect of India’s economic reforms passed away after being admitted to AIIMS Delhi on Thursday night.
Dr Manmohan Singh, who retired from public life after the Congress’ defeat at the hands of the BJP in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, he was a member of Rajya sabha and made his last public appearance in August 2023.
He was being treated for age-related medical conditions and had sudden loss of consciousness on 26th December 2024. Revitalizing measures were initiated immediately at home and later he was admitted to the Medical Emergency at AIIMS, New Delhi at 8:06 PM. Despite all efforts, he could not survive and was pronounced dead at 9:51 PM,” the hospital said.
