Gurugram: NIA Joins Probe Into Pub Bomb Attack, Detains Suspects

On Tuesday, a bomb attack was reported in Gurugram where two country-made bombs were hurled outside a pub bar in Sector-29, Gurugram. One of which was defused and the other blasted, this was captured in a CCTV camera installed at an adjoining club.

However, the Gurugram police’s Crime Branch and SWAT team, who were on routine checking duty, caught the accused, identified as Sachin, a resident of Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, red-handed while throwing the bomb and recovered two live crude bombs from his possession. There were no injuries or casualties reported in the incident, but a two-wheeler parked nearby suffered minor damage.

According to police, after the attack on Bollywood singer Badshah’s pub bar in Chandigarh, the STF was investigating the matter. Following that incident, the owner of the Toy Box pub bar, adjacent to the Human bar, where the blasts took place, complained to the police that he was also receiving similar threatening phone calls. Meanwhile, The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is also probing the alleged Lawrence Bishnoi gang link in the case as per sources.
