Hollywood Boulevard Evacuated Amid LA Wildfire, Death Toll Rises

The LA Fire Department has ordered evacuations in iconic showbiz areas, including Hollywood Boulevard, Mulholland Drive, and Laurel Canyon Boulevard, due to a raging wildfire.

Amid the various wildfires blazing Los Angeles, a new fire ignited in the hills above Hollywood Boulevard threatening some of the most iconic tourist destinations.

An evacuation order has been issued by the LA Fire Department for people on Hollywood Boulevard to the south, Mulholland Drive to the north, the 101 freeway to the east, and Laurel Canyon Boulevard to the west. All these places are renowned showbiz locations.

Dolby Theatre, where the Oscars are held is also located within that area. The destruction caused by the wildfires led to the postponement of next week’s Oscar nominations by two days.

A certainly small fire, the Sunset Fire is also burning above Hollywood Boulevard and its renowned Walk of Fame resulting in the destruction of two homes. It reached to stroke in Studio City and was then extinguished by more than 50 firefighters.

The ignition of this fire increases the number of major wildfires burning the city to 5. Five people have lost their lives, nearly 2,000 homes, businesses,s and structures have been destroyed and around 4,50,000 residencies are facing power outages in the LA area.
