Allu Arjun, a Telugu actor, was taken into custody after a fatal stampede that took place on December 4 at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad during the launch of his movie Pushpa 2. The tragedy took the life of a 39-year-old woman named Revathi and left her eight-year-old kid hospitalized. On Friday, Arjun was arrested and taken to the Chikkadpally police station to be questioned.
Allegations have been made that the Telangana police were not made aware that Allu Arjun was scheduled to attend the screening. The management of the theater was aware of this information. More security could have been put in place if the cops had known.
Allu Arjun petitioned the Telangana High Court to have a formal complaint against him for the death of a woman during the Hyderabad premiere of his movie Pushpa 2: The Rule dismissed. Additionally, he had promised the deceased’s family Rs 25 lakh in compensation.
