An important step toward enhancing maritime relations between India and Russia has been taken with the opening of the eagerly awaited Chennai-Vladivostok maritime corridor.
The Chennai-Vladivostok sea route spans approximately 5,600 nautical miles Transportation time between India and Russia’s Far East.

It is expected to drastically cut down 16 days from 40 days. So, now we can travel just in 24 days, saving money and time both. “This corridor opens immense opportunities for trade and cooperation. Container ships carrying crude oil, metals, and textiles have already started arriving at Indian ports,” Indian ports, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said.

The Chennai-Vladivostok corridor’s operationalization will improve the logistics of international trade. India is well-positioned to seize new trade opportunities and strengthen its position in global markets by cutting down on transit times and developing strategic maritime alliances.
