On Monday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attended the commissioning ceremony of the warship INS (Indian Naval Ship) Tushil at the Yantar Shipyard in Kaliningrad, Russia.
Rajnath emphasised that the long-standing partners India and Russia would not only strengthen the existing areas of collaboration but would also give priority to work in the new and unexplored areas of technology. He called the induction of INS Tushil a “proud testament to India’s growing maritime strength.”
Mr. Singh lauded Russia’s support for India’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (self-reliant India), noting that the ship embodies the collaborative strength of Indian and Russian industries. “The increasing ‘Made in India’ content in ships like INS Tushil highlights our journey towards technological self-reliance and excellence through joint efforts”, Rajnath said.
India and Russia will enter a new era of cooperation by taking advantage of each other’s expertise in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Space Exploration and Counter-Terrorism.” Singh added.
