Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his final respects to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. PM Modi expressed his condolences for the passing of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, stating that India is grieving the loss of one of its most illustrious leaders. PM Modi paid tributes to Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji at his residence. He said, “India will forever remember his contribution to our nation.”
Additionally, the Prime Minister expressed his condolences to Manmohan Singh’s family for his passing. Manmohan Singh was also given final respects by Union Health Minister and BJP National President JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. KC Venugopal and other Congress leaders were there visiting the former PM’s house.
As the family waits for his daughter to arrive from overseas, the former prime minister’s final ceremonies are reportedly scheduled for this Saturday. According to Congress leader KC Venugopal, the final rites’ date will be revealed today.
In response to Dr. Singh’s death, the Indian government has announced a seven-day national mourning period and canceled all of today’s planned events.
For public respect, the former prime minister’s mortal remains would be positioned at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters in Delhi.
The ‘final darshan’ is set for Saturday morning between 8:00 and 10:00, according to sources within the Congress party. Before the last rites are carried out, party leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi will pay their respects at the AICC office.
Former Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh died Sunday at 9:51 PM at the AIIMS hospital in Delhi. At his home in Delhi, the 92-year-old leader was undergoing treatment for age-related ailments when he unexpectedly passed out on Thursday night.
Around 8 PM, he was taken to AIIMS, where the medical staff attempted to revive him, but at 9:51 PM, he was declared dead.
