Today members of the INDIA bloc on Tuesday staged a walkout from Parliament during the winter session in protest over the Adani bribe case. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said that It’s a whole set of issues to do with the Modi Govt’s policies. Many of the policies are not in the good books of the opposition party. So, as a mark of protest, the step was taken and with this the 6 days protest came to an end.
Chidambaram, a Congress MP, stated that a probe is necessary. He pointed out that although the accusations were made in a different nation, they nonetheless relate to events that have occurred in our country. Hence, it is their responsibility to confirm the accuracy of those claims. The ramifications of this are extensive. “An investigation is the only way to prove whether or not those accusations are true,” he stated. However, the Trinamool Congress did not join the INDIA bloc’s walkout.
BJP Rajya Sabha MP Samik Bhattacharya reacted by defending that even in opposition, the views are not the same. Some or other, AAP, TMC or even Congress members disrupt parliamentary affairs. Moreover, BJP MP Arun Govil said, “Yesterday, they said that an agreement has been made (for smooth functioning of Parliament). Now, they are doing this. Why are they doing this, only they know…Parliament is for constructive business, for constructive politics.”
