India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri To Visit Bangladesh On December 9: MEA

The spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs, Mr. Randhir jaiswal stated on Friday that the Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri is scheduled to visit Bangladesh on December 9, 2024. The visit comes at the time when the ties between India and Bangladesh is strained. Mr. Misri will discuss with Bangladesh authorities to ensure the safety and securities of Hindus and all minorities following the reports of violence.

Earlier, On 16 July clashes between Awami League supporters and police turned violent resulting in a mascare. The new government of Bangladesh led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus has faced difficulty in restoring stability. He took office in early August, also he continuously tried hard to tame the violence but it was totally out of control.

A few days back, the arrest of Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari on 25th November over sedition charges made several attack on minorities. This situation has raised concerned about the safety and well-being of Hindu and other minorities in Bangladesh.

The bangladeshi Hindus are urging the Indian government to intervene and prompt the Bangladesh government to take action and protect the Hindus and other minorities.
