Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the Viksit Bahrat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on Sunday on the occasion of National Youth Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025, organized from January 10-12, 2025, embodies the Prime Minister’s Independence Day call to engage 1 lakh youth in politics without political affiliations, providing them with a national platform to turn their ideas for a Viksit Bharat into reality. The event aims to break the 25-year tradition of holding the National Youth Festival in a conventional manner.
The Prime Minister accentuated himself to be in a bond of friendship with India’s youth and underscored truest to be its strongest link. He highlighted the formation of MY Bharat and the foundation of the Viksit Bharat Young Leader Dialogue to be a result of his trust in the youth. He believes that the collective efforts of millions of young people will drive the wheels of progress and enable the nation to reach its target.
PM Modi wrote on X, “India’s Yuva Shakti is driving remarkable transformations. The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue serves as an inspiring platform, uniting the energy and innovative spirit of our youth to shape a developed India. #VBYLD2025”
PM Modi addressing the audience presented his coherent views with Swami Vivekananda over the young generation. He recalled Swamiji’s belief that the younger generation inhibits in itself the ability to solve any problem like a lion.
Stressing that ‘History teaches and inspires us,’ PM Modi cited the examples of the 1930s economic crisis in the USA and the basic life crises in Singapore. He asserted that the solution in the USA was the New Deal, while Singapore transformed into a global financial and trade hub, changing the dynamics of both countries and leading them on the path to success.
Similarly taking the example of India’s freedom struggle and food crisis post-independence PM highlighted the potential of setting big goals and achieving them within a time frame.
During the Dialogue, young leaders had to make ten powerpoint presentations representing the ten thematic areas encompassing different spheres reflecting the innovative ideas and solutions pivotal to India’s development before the Prime Minister. He also released a compilation of the best essays written by participants on the ten themes.
Furthermore, PM Modi had lunch with the young leaders, giving them the opportunity to share their ideas, experiences, and aspirations directly with him. This initiative aimed to bridge the gap between governance and youth aspirations, fostering a deeper sense of ownership and responsibility among the participants.
Throughout the Dialogue, various competitions, activities, and cultural presentations will be organized to encourage the participation of young leaders. These will include discussions on key themes led by mentors and domain experts, as well as cultural performances that showcase India’s artistic heritage while symbolizing its modern advancements.
