Dhaka metropolitan police’s detective branch has arrested one of the prominent Iskcon priests and Bangladesh Sammilita Sanatani Jagran Jot spokesperson, Chinmoy Krishna Das. India has been urged by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKON) to move quickly and negotiate with Bangladesh in order to secure the release of their priest.

Police spokesperson Talebur Rahman did not give a clear picture of the arrest. Das was detained at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. Das is believed to have been taken to Detective Branch of Yunus Regime.

A case was filed against 19 people accusing them of disrespecting Bangladesh’s national flag in Chattogram’s New Market area. Advocates have urged for a fair, proper and transparent investigation.
