Amid the power transition in Syria following the ousting of President Assad, Israel conducted 60 airstrikes on Syria within four hours on Saturday evening. This marks a significant increase in military actions between the two nations.
The missiles are said to be fired at Syrian military sites on Saturday. Earlier, Israel had also attacked more than 400 times despite the protests from the United Nations(UN). Israel claims that the attacks are essential to eliminate Iranian military targets despite Iran not confirming any of its forces in Syria.
Further, Israel believes the attacks will stop the weapons from going into the hands of Syria’s extremists who could use them against Israel or arm Hezbollah in Lebanon.
