The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully integrated the SpaDeX satellites with the PSLV-C60 launch vehicle, marking a significant milestone in India’s space program.
The SpaDeX mission will supposedly launch two small spacecraft into orbit on December 30,2024. The mission aims to test the technology needed for spacecraft to meet and separate in space.
The spacecrafts weight approx 220 kg each , the two small spacecraft will be launched into a 470 km circular orbit at 55° inclination. This mission is seen as key step towards India’s plan for lunar exploration and the establishment of the Bharatiya Antariksh Station (BAS).
If successful, India will become the fourth country to master space docking technology. This achievement will construct a way for future space missions, including the development of advanced space systems and technologies.
ISRO’s achievement shows India’s growing strength in space technology and exploration. The successful launch of SpaDex will be a major milestone for India’s space program. It will demonstrate India’s commitment in advancing space research and development.
