Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday shared the benefits of the Jal Jeevan Mission on women by bestowing them with women empowerment, especially in the rural areas. The scheme allows them to focus on their skill development and being self-reliant.
PM Modi said, “A good perspective on how Jal Jeevan Mission is furthering women empowerment, especially in our rural areas. With clean water at their doorstep, women can now focus on skill development and self-reliance.”
The Jal Jeevan Mission was launched by PM Modi on 15 August 2019. It aims to provide every rural household with a drinking water supply in adequate quantity along with prescribed quality on a regular and long-term basis by 2024.
