In the 81-member Jharkhand assembly, the winner needs to win at least 41 seats to form the government. Here, the two allies mainly, are the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led INDIA bloc and the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

The vote counting of Jharkhand election shows early trends started trickling in. By 12:30 pm, the trend shows the neck-to-neck competition between the Bharatiya Janata Party, leading in 29 seats while JMM in 28 seats. On the other hand, the opposition INDIA bloc was leading in 14 seats, followed by RJD leading in 4 seats and CPI(ML)(L) in 2 . Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren was leading in the Barhait assembly constituency by a margin of 4,921 votes over BJP’s Gamliyel Hembrom. It will be interesting to see whether the “tsunami of change,” will weave the magic or not.
