The security forces today killed one terrorist after an encounter broke out in Jammu and Kashmir’s Dachigam forest, in the upper mountain belt region. The incident took place when the force got an input of terrorists and the search operation was going on. Still, search operations are on.

The encounter began on December 2 when the Indian Army and J&K Police conducted a coordinated operation in Harwan, Srinagar, based on specific intelligence data. Initial contact was made during the search. In the ongoing anti-terrorist operation, during a CASO (Cordon and Search Operation) launched by the security forces, the firing started between the two.

Earlier, few incidents have been reported. A terror nest in the Kunzer area of the Baramulla district was busted on November 23 by Baramulla Police in collaboration with security personnel.

Terrorists detonated a grenade at Srinagar’s bustling Sunday Market, close to the tourist reception center, on November 2. This grenade attack killed a 42-year-old mother of three children and injured nine additional bystanders.
