Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla denounced TMC leader Kalyan Banerjee’s contentious remark about Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, urging members to refrain from personal comments, especially those targeting women.
Birla, addressing the House today stated that anything that occurred in the House yesterday was incredibly inappropriate, and no remarks should be made about any respected member, especially women. He added that this is not consistent with the House’s dignity and asked all members to maintain decorum.
In their addresses, he asked the esteemed members to avoid making any personal remarks against caste, society, women, men, etc. The Honorable Member, Kalyana Banerjee, has also expressed regret for this in the House and provided him with a written apology, he said.
