On December 13, Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the Maha Kumbh as a divine celebration of India’s faith, spirituality, and culture during his visit to the sacred city of Prayagraj.
He praised the event as a “Mahayagya of unity,” emphasizing its role in eradicating discrimination and fostering togetherness. While addressing a gathering at the Triveni Sangam, the Prime Minister said, “The Maha Kumbh is not just an event; it is the inner consciousness of humanity that awakens naturally. It is this consciousness that draws millions from every corner of India to the holy Sangam.”
He reflected on the spirit of collective participation that defines the Maha Kumbh, and stated, “From villages, towns, and cities, people journey to Prayagraj, showcasing a rare and powerful sense of unity. Here, saints, sages, scholars, and common people become one, taking a holy dip together. The division of caste vanish, and sectarian differences dissolve, presenting a vision of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.”
The Prime Minister extended his gratitude to all those contributing to the success of the Maha Kumbh, saying, “I bow with reverence to the sacred land of Sangam and salute the saints and sages gracing this divine event. I especially acknowledge the tireless efforts of workers, laborers, and sanitation staff, who are working day and night to ensure the success of this grand celebration.”
PM Modi concluded by highlighting the Maha Kumbh as a symbol of India’s spiritual heritage, unity, and cultural vibrancy, urging everyone to participate in this divine gathering.
