On Friday, Mamta Kulkarni, popular name in Bollywood during the 90s era, officially announced her ‘sanyaas.’ She reached Kinnar Akhara in Mahakumbh today morning where she met Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Dr Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi at Kinnar Akhara and took blessings.
There was a discussion between the two about becoming Mahamandaleshwar for about an hour. She was seen wearing a Rudraksh garland around her neck and a saffron bag hanging on her shoulder. Mamta performed the ritual of ‘Pind Daan’ at the Sangam on Friday evening.
According to a media report, her coronation ceremony took place in the Kinnar Akhara. Also, she is being given a new name starting today. She took sanyas, renamed Yamai Mamta Nandgiri in Kinnar Akhara.
Several photos and videos of this meeting have surfaced on social media platforms. In the visuals, she is seen wearing saffron clothes along with a rudraksh mala around her neck.
She shared her views in the meeting by saying that she feels fortunate to witness the sacred Mahakumbh and continued saying, ‘I decided to join Kinnar Akhara, which was guided by our Guru Mahamandaleshwar Swami Parvati Nand Giri, as it was committed to propagate Sanatan Dharma across the world’.
