In a significant address ahead of Parliament’s Budget session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remarked that this is the first time since 2014 that no external attempts have been made to incite unrest in India prior to the commencement of a parliamentary session.
“This is likely the first Parliament session since 2014 where we have not witnessed any foreign interference aimed at creating discord,” Modi stated. He noted that in previous years, there were always individuals ready to instigate trouble as the sessions approached, hinting at opposition parties without naming them directly.
As his government prepares to present its first comprehensive budget during its third term, Modi expressed hope that Goddess Lakshmi, the deity associated with wealth, would bless the underprivileged and middle-class citizens of India.
Speaking to reporters, the Prime Minister conveyed his optimism that this Budget session would serve as a catalyst for renewed confidence and energy in the pursuit of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) by the year 2047.
Modi emphasized that his administration has been operating in a mission-oriented manner during its current term, focusing on holistic development. He highlighted that the pillars of his economic strategy are innovation, inclusion, and investment.
During the session, the Prime Minister indicated that crucial decisions would be made to empower women, ensuring they receive equal rights and that any form of sectarian or faith-based discrimination is eradicated.
He expressed confidence that all Members of Parliament, particularly the younger representatives, would actively contribute to the ‘Viksit Bharat’ agenda throughout the session.
As the government gears up for the budget presentation, the Prime Minister’s remarks set a tone of optimism and determination, aiming to foster a collaborative environment in Parliament for the benefit of the nation.
