The Election Commission of India has clarified that there hasn’t been a discrepancy between the votes cast in VVPAT slips in Maharashtra assembly elections.
According to ECI the total votes polled in all 288 constituencies in Maharashtra were 6,40,88,195 which when added to 5,38,225 valid postal ballots, brings it to a total of 6,46,26,420. The ECI also clarified that any discrepancies that happened during vote counting were due to factors such as clerical errors, data entry issues, or technical malfunctions.
