Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic stampede in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, which resulted in the loss of six lives and injured over 30 devotees. “Pained by the stampede in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, my thoughts are with those who have lost their near and dear ones,” Modi said, adding that he prays for the speedy recovery of the injured.

The stampede occurred near Vishnu Nivasam in Tirupati during the distribution of ‘darshan’ tokens for the Vaikunta Dwara Darshanam at the Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple. The incident has sent shockwaves across the country, with many leaders expressing their condolences to the families of the victims.

Modi assured that the Andhra Pradesh government is providing all possible assistance to those affected by the tragedy. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu also expressed his deep shock over the incident and directed higher officials to provide relief measures and better medical treatment to the injured.

Other leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, also condoled the loss of lives and offered their support to the affected families.
