In the mega auction in Jeddah, IPL bids are turning crazy by spending, a whopping sum of Rs. 467.95 crore in Saudi Arabia, on the very first day. 84 players—72 sold and 12 unsold, went under the hammer.
It’s an epic IPL auction of 2025 where Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) revealed that whooping Rs. 27 crore has been spent to hire the star player, Rishabh Pant. Thus, Pant grabs the title of “the Most Expensive Player of IPL”. Pant’s outlook of game, proven match-winner and resilience made, to go for this highest bid ever. He was followed by Shreyas Iyer taken by Punjab Kings for 26.75 crore and Venkatesh Iyer, sold to KKR for Rs. 23.75 crore respectively.
Just after midnight on Oct 12, when the Delhi Capitals informed that he would retain as the highest bid player for IPL but not as captain. Then, Pant, the star wicketkeeper-batter was skeptic about himself and posted on X: “If I go to the auction, will I be sold or not”.
