A scuffle broke out between BJP and Congress MPs outside Parliament, leading to a police investigation. Delhi Police has filed an FIR against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of physical assault and incitement during the altercation.
The FIR was registered under various sections, including voluntary causing grievous hurt, act of endangering life or personal safety of others, and use of criminal force. Two BJP MPs, Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput, suffered head injuries during the scuffle and were hospitalized.
Both parties have lodged complaints against each other, alleging physical assault and injuries during the protest. BJP leader Hemang Joshi accused Rahul Gandhi of instigating the altercation, while the Congress blamed the ruling party for the commotion.
The Delhi Police Crime Branch has taken over the investigation and will record the statements of Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput. They may also call Rahul Gandhi for questioning. The police will also access CCTV visuals of the area where the incident occurred.
The Congress has accused the BJP of pushing party president Mallikarjun Kharge, who sustained injuries to his knee. However, BJP MP Sarangi claimed that Rahul Gandhi pushed him. Rahul Gandhi denied the allegations, stating that he was standing near the entrance where BJP MPs were protesting.
