PM Modi Condoles Jaipur Fire Victims, Announces ₹2 Lakh Ex-Gratia

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured in the Jaipur-Ajmer Highway accident.

The relatives of the slain and injured in the traffic disaster on the Jaipur-Ajmer Highway in Rajasthan would get an ex gratia payment, according to a statement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday. A tragic incident involving a gas truck and many automobiles on the highway resulted in seven fatalities and over thirty-five injuries. The fire destroyed over thirty vehicles.

PM Modi conveyed his sorrow over the deaths and wished the injured people a quick recovery. He said that the next of kin of the deceased would get an ex gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund and that the injured would receive Rs 50,000 in financial support.

“Deeply saddened by the loss of lives in the accident on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway in Rajasthan. Condolences to those who lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon. Those impacted are receiving assistance from the local administration,” the Prime Minister’s Office said.

“The next of kin of each dead person will get an ex gratia payment of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF. “Rs. 50,000 would be given to the injured,” the message continued.

President Droupadi Murmu said the disaster was extremely distressing and sent her sympathies to the families of the victims. She also prayed for the injured people to heal quickly.

Ex gratia was also awarded by the Rajasthani government for the victims’ relatives. While the injured would receive Rs 1 lakh, the state government will offer Rs 5 lakh to the deceased’s nearest of kin. In order to guarantee that the injured are treated appropriately and promptly, the relevant authorities have also been given the required instructions.
