PM Modi Invites Youth To Join “One Nation, One Election” Debate

PM Modi urged India's youth, including NCC cadets, MY Bharat volunteers, and NSS comrades, to lead and participate in large numbers in the "One Nation, One Election" debate, taking it forward nationwide.

PM Narendra Modi on Monday encouraged the youth of the nation to engage in the discussions of ‘One Nation One Election’ connected to their future and to improve India’s democratic process during a speech at the NCC Rally at the Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi.

PM Modi urged, “Today, I especially request the youth of India, I request the NCC cadets, I request the volunteers of MY Bharat, I request the NSS comrades, wherever we are, we should conduct this debate, take the debate forward, lead the debate, we should participate in this debate in large numbers.”

Modi emphasized the electoral system of the country to be an important issue related to the future of the youth. He accentuated India’s role in conducting the world’s largest elections and pointed out the frequent elections happening every few months leading to difficulties in governance.

He stated that elections require a lot of preparation including updating the voting list and teachers being assigned to duties disrupting studies and impacting exam preparations.

He stated, “Therefore, a very important debate is going on in the country these days. Everyone is giving their views on this subject and this deliberation is very necessary in democracy, everyone should express their views, this is necessary, and what is debate – One Nation One Election.
