Prime Minister Narendra Modi complimented Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman following the presentation of the Union Budget 2025–2026 by her in Parliament on Saturday. He allegedly said to Sitharaman, “Everyone is praising you, the Budget is very good.”
Sources said that the Prime Minister approached the bench where Sitharaman was sitting and thanked her for presenting the first budget of the Modi 3.0 government and her eighth budget today.
Sitharaman stated that increasing growth and the purchasing power of the middle class, farmers, women, and youth would be the key priority as she unveiled the budget for this fiscal year.
FM stated that it gives priority to reforms in six important areas, including the banking sector, urban development, mining, taxation, power, and regulatory policies. The Finance Minister declared that taxpayers earning up to Rs 12 lakh will not be obliged to pay taxes under the new tax system, which is one of the largest reliefs for the middle class.
The Prime Minister stated earlier in the day that the new budget is “for the common man,” with a particular emphasis on the country’s youth, women, and farmers. He said, “This is the budget of ‘GYAN’ (garib, yuva, annadaata, rani),” at a Cabinet meeting.
The Finance Minister echoed the Prime Minister’s statement at the Budget presentation, stating that the poor, young people, farmers, and women would also be given priority.
“The budget’s main goal is to lead everyone on an inclusive journey. We set out on a quest to realize the enormous potential of our nation. Out of all the big economies, ours is the one that is expanding the fastest. “Belief in India’s potential has only increased,” she emphasized.
