On December 13, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and launched a series of development projects worth approximately Rs 5500 crore in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, aimed at preparing the city for the upcoming Maha Kumbh Mela in 2025.

These projects are designed to significantly improve the infrastructure and facilities for the millions of devotees expected to attend the event, reinforcing Prayagraj’s role as a spiritual and cultural hub. The projects include major upgrades to transportation, sanitation, water supply, and road networks, which are essential to support the large-scale operations required for hosting one of the world’s largest religious gatherings.

The infrastructure developments are expected to benefit not only the pilgrims attending the Kumbh Mela but also the local community in the long term, fostering economic growth and improved quality of life.

During the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude to the workers, employees, and sanitation staff who are working tirelessly to make the event a success.

He emphasized that these projects are part of the government’s broader vision to enhance the region’s infrastructure, ensure a smooth experience for devotees, and contribute to the city’s development.

Along with the development projects, PM Modi also announced the launch of the ‘Kumbh Sah’AI’yak’ chatbot, aimed at providing real-time assistance to pilgrims, marking the first use of AI technology for the Kumbh Mela. This will make the Kumbh experience more accessible and efficient, particularly for visitors who may not be familiar with technology.
