PM Modi Lays Foundation For Delhi Projects Worth Rs 4,500 Crore

PM Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several transformative development projects in Delhi on Friday, focusing on housing, education, and urban infrastructure. Addressing a large gathering, PM Modi extended New Year greetings and expressed hope about India’s rise as the world’s third-largest economy by 2025.

Emphasizing the central government’s efforts under the “Housing for All” initiative, the Prime Minister handed over keys to 1,500 newly constructed homes for slum dwellers and announced plans for 3,000 additional houses in Delhi.

He admired the pucca houses as symbols of self-respect and progress, stating that the initiative would provide every citizen with dignified housing. “Our cities must reflect the aspirations of a developed India,” PM Modi said, highlighting that urban centers are vital for national growth. He also declared expedited development of the Narela sub-city to resolve urbanization challenges.

The Prime Minister laid the foundation for two new Delhi University campuses in Surajmal Vihar and Dwarka, along with a college named after Veer Savarkar in Najafgarh. He applauded the National Education Policy (NEP) for creating paths for marginalized communities and promoting education in mother tongues.

To modernize the education system, PM Modi declared the construction of a new CBSE building and condemned the Delhi state government for mismanagement of education funds under schemes like the “Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.”

The Prime Minister stressed the Central Government’s achievements in developing Delhi’s infrastructure, including pipelines for natural gas, new expressways, and tunnels like the Shiv Murti to Nelson Mandela Marg route to reduce traffic congestion. He pointed out the rapid progress of Central projects, attributing their success to minimal state interference.

PM Modi expressed discontent at the Delhi government’s non-implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and accused the AAP government of depriving residents of free healthcare benefits.

He emphasized initiatives such as nearly 500 Jan Aushadhi Kendras providing affordable medicines and the “One Nation, One Ration Card” scheme, with 75 lakh beneficiaries. He also announced solar energy subsidies under the Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

Concluding his speech, the Prime Minister outlined his vision for 2025, focusing on the need for good governance and collective efforts for nation-building. “The year 2025 will bring a new era of governance, strengthening the spirit of ‘Nation First, Countrymen First,’” he stated.

Union Ministers Shri Manohar Lal and Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, along with Delhi Lieutenant Governor Shri Vinay Kumar Saxena, were among the leaders present at the event.

In his post in X, he wrote,Today is a landmark day for Delhi, with transformative projects in housing, infrastructure, and education being launched to accelerate the city’s development.”

He also announced in another post about the central government’s initiative for building permanent houses in place of slums. He wrote,The Central Government has started a campaign to build permanent houses in place of slums.”

This significant event reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to improving living standards and fostering inclusive growth for all citizens.
