Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit the Maha Kumbh Mela, an auspicious event occurring at an interval of 144 years, on February 5.
Security forces have increased vigilance in the area, as it is expected to host not only devotees but also many prominent figures and officeholders.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit the mela on January 27. As part of his devotion, he will take a holy dip at the Sangam and perform Ganga Puja. He will also be holding meetings with the officials. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar is expected to visit the Sangam and take a holy dip on February 1.
President Droupadi Murmu is anticipated to visit Maha Kumbh on February 10. She will also be attending major events in the city. Administrative and security measures are being reinforced to ensure the safety and security of the visiting dignitaries.
The second ‘Amrit Snan’ of the Maha Kumbh on Mauni Amavasya on January 29 is expected to witness a footfall of 10 crore pilgrims along with the participation of 13 akharas. The Mauni Amavasya bathing ritual is considered to be auspicious because of the planetary combinations on the day occurring after 144 years.
Maha Kumbh Mela commenced on January 13 and will continue till February 26 at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The notable bathing dates include January 29 (Mauni Amavasya – Second Shahi Snan), February 3 (Basant Panchami – Third Shahi Snan), February 12 (Maghi Purnima), and February 26 (Maha Shivaratri)
