On the 100th anniversary of Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the cornerstone for the nation’s first river interlinking project under the National Vision Plan: the Ken-Betwa River linking project. PM to inaugurate Omkareshwar floating solar project too.

The Prime Minister will travel to Madhya Pradesh to inaugurate and lay the groundwork for several development projects in Khajuraho tomorrow. This project would benefit thousands of farmer families by supplying irrigation facilities to several areas in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, the initiative will give the local population access to drinking water. More than 100 MW of green energy will also be produced by the hydropower projects. In addition, the initiative would boost the rural economy and generate a large number of job possibilities.

In honour of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s 100th birthday, the prime minister will issue a commemorative stamp and coin. Additionally, he laid the cornerstone for the 1153 Atal Gram Sushasan structures. These structures will be crucial to the efficient operation of Gram Panchayat duties and operations, which will promote local good governance.

The Prime Minister will launch the Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project, which is located in Omkareshwar in the Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh, as part of his pledge to promote green energy and energy sufficiency. The project will help the government achieve its goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2070 by lowering carbon emissions. By lowering water evaporation, it will also aid in water conservation.
