Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi kept up her signature style of using her luggage to make a statement. She brought a bag with the words “We stand with the Hindus and Christians of Bangladesh” on it as she appeared at Parliament today. Yesterday, the Congress leader was spotted carrying a bag with the word “Palestine” printed on it.
A day before, Priyanka Gandhi, who is attending her first Parliament session following her recent election victory from Kerala’s Wayanad, also spoke out against the atrocities committed against minorities in Bangladesh. She said, “Tell them that they should do something about the atrocities that are happening on minorities Hindus and Christians in Bangladesh. Talk to the Bangladesh government and stop these atrocities.”
Speaking during Zero Hour, she called for the government’s support for those suffering from these attacks. “The government should raise the issue of atrocities on minorities, both Hindus and Christians, in Bangladesh. It should discuss this with the Bangladesh government and support those who are in pain,” she stated.
Pakistan’s ex-minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain lauded Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi for carrying a bag to Parliament with “Palestine” written on it. The Bharatiya Janata Party criticized her behavior as “appeasement”.
BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said, “The appeasement bag is the reason for their losses in elections.”
