The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted the onset of light rains in Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi for the next two days due to a western disturbance over central Pakistan and its surrounding regions.
Further, the IMD has predicted the onset of cold waves in these areas from December 9. The temperature in these areas will decrease leading to cold waves. It is believed that the cold waves will first hit Rajasthan followed by Punjab and Haryana.
Therefore night shelters have been established at various locations in Delhi including AIIMS, Lodhi Road, and Nizamuddin Flyover among others.
