The Bhartiya Janata party recently declared the names of the candidates who will be standing for Rajya Sabha by polls elections in three key states, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana and Odisha. It’s a well-played strategic move by BJP to strengthen its position in the upper house of parliament. As the vacancies came through resignation, party switching in the respective states.
For Andhra Pradesh BJP’s candidate is Ryga Krishnaiah. He recently resigned from his Rajya Sabha position and left the YSRCP. He is most dedicated towards developing the lifestyle of other backward classes people. For Haryana BJP has chosen Rekha Sharma a former national commission for women chief.
For Odisha BJP announced Sujeet Kumar he had vacated his upper house seat and was subsequently expelled by BJD, he is also a lawyer and a trained attributor with experience in supreme court.
This by polls elections serves as BJPs efforts of maintaining control over Rajya Sabha, where it holds a significant number of seats but still faces challenges in securing a majority without support of its allies. The positioning of Rekha Sharma , Ryaga krishnaiah and sujeet Kumar is to gain influence in the key states.
