Following the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane in Kazakhstan, which resulted in 38 deaths and 29 injuries Russia has called for patience until the investigation is underway. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has urged for patience and has emphasized the importance of refraining from concluding until the investigation concludes.

Following the plane crash conspiracy theories have surfaced on social media. Some people believe that due to the ongoing drone attack by Ukraine on Grozny and Makhachkala, the plane was hit by the Russian anti air craft missile system.

Defense Council of Ukraine official Andriy Kovalenko mentioned the strike to be a quick-witted plan. He wrote on X, “During the flight, the fuselage was pierced, and the aircraft systems were damaged by the explosion of an air defense missile with shrapnel.” He further mentioned that the Russians who reviewed the transcript of the crew’s conversation had admitted that the plane was hit by air defense systems.
