BJP leader Sambit Patra, slams Congress, arguing that Jawaharlal Nehru’s correspondence was a historical legacy and not a family’s property. He emphasized what is the truth behind letters that Congress is afraid of. This erupted when The Prime Ministers’ Museum and Library (PMML) officially asked Sonia Gandhi to return the letters from Jawaharlal Nehru to Edwina Mountbatten, sparking a new controversy.

According to reports, the UPA administration relocated these letters and other correspondence with individuals such as Jayaprakash Narayan and Albert Einstein from the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library in 2008. But what has generated the most interest is Nehru’s correspondence with Edwina Mountbatten. Nevertheless, the stories of Nehru ji and Lady Mountbatten had been there. Sonia Gandhi is accused by the BJP of stealing 51 cartons of Nehru’s documents. Sambit Patra, a party spokesperson, questioned the letters’ confidentiality.

“This is a historical heritage (collection of letters written by Jawaharlal Nehru), not the property of any family. The country wants to know what was in the correspondence between Jawaharlal Nehru and Lady Mountbatten and Jagjivan Ram and Jayaprakash Narayan. What was there in these letters that the first family felt it should not be made public? We demand that the collection of letters written by Jawaharlal Nehru should be returned” Patra said.

In response to this, Om Birla, Congressman Manickam Tagore In a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker demanded that BJP leader Sambit Patra be held accountable for using “slanderous language” against Rahul Gandhi. He claimed that during a news conference, Mr. Patra had said the remarks regarding the Leader of the Opposition.
