Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday emphasized the importance of the Constitution in Lok Sabha. She further alleged the PM had mistaken ‘Samvidhan’ with ‘Sangh ka Vidhan’.

Underscoring the importance of the Constitution Priyanka said, “The constitution is such a protective shield that keeps the citizens of the country safe, it is a shield of justice, unity and freedom of expression.”

She criticized the ruling party’s efforts to break the Constitution and said, “It is unfortunate that ruling party in their 10 years have tried their to best to break this shield. Through lateral entry and privatization they are trying to break the shied. They’re trying to weaken the reservation. If they wouldn’t have got the result in Lok Sabha elections then they would have started breaking the constitution as well.”

She highlights how the Prime Minister demonstrates respect for the Constitution, yet remains indifferent when the Constitution itself is under threat. She said, “The Prime minister touches his forehead to the Constitution but when there are cries for Justice from Sambhal, Hathras, and Manipur, there is not a wrinkle on his forehead.

She said, “It seems that Prime Minister Modi has not understood that it is Bharat ka Samvidhan, not Sangh ka Vidhan.” She emphasized that the ruling party is unable to safeguard the unity of the country.
