Supreme Court Judge, Surya Kant proposed the need for a ‘civil army’ along with a ‘military in dress’ to look after the nation from both within and outside.

At the Valedictory session at the International Moot competition at Rashtra Raksha University on Sunday, Justice Surya Kant urged that in a country like India, developing in the economy, politics, democracy, rule of law, and governance ‘military in dress’ is not enough and therefore there is a requirement of a ‘civil army’.

Justice Kant emphasized the importance of the moot court where students get the opportunity to handle unique hypothetical cases related to global security, international law, cyber terrorism, and national security.

He further stated that platforms like these competitions enable the students to develop their skills in speaking, oration and expression which is extremely important for them when they go for civil services or any other public assignment.
