Sanjay Raut, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader attacked the political tenure of Eknath Shinde, saying, “Shinde era is over” and he will never be CM again. “BJP can even break Shinde`s party, this has always been BJP`s line in politics. They break and finish the party of those who work with them,” Raut said.
He alleged that there was no reason for delay in choosing CM, still they took 15 days to decide. He hinted at a possibility of rifts among the members of Mahayuti. He further added that it does not seem they won the election by fair means and doubted the election result. He added the issues within the party will come out and the world will witness it.
With 235 seats won overall—132 by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alone—the Mahayuti alliance, which includes the BJP, was able to clinch a resounding majority in the assembly elections.There was speculation earlier for the seat of CM. Shinde also wanted to retain the post but he stepped down, owing to the party’s overall decision.
On the other hand, Fadnavis emerged as a popular leader resulting, a change in political dynamics. He was backed by RSS and PM Modi too. Finally, Fadnavis became the final choice as CM of Maharashtra. while Eknath Shinde was offered the position of Deputy Chief Minister.
