In a strong response to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena’s letter, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi stated that governance should remain above “petty politics.” Atishi was responding to Saxena’s concerns over AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal referring to her as a “temporary CM”.

Atishi emphasized that in a democratic setup, all elected members are temporary and remain in office only till the duration of their term. She expressed amusement at Saxena taking offense to this reality, highlighting the need for constructive cooperation over criticism. Atishi urged Saxena to work alongside the government, focusing on governance rather than petty politics.

Atishi also acknowledged the progress made by the Delhi government, rooted in the vision and legacy of former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. She cited educational reforms, healthcare revolution, and infrastructural advancements as examples of Kejriwal’s model of governance, which has become a benchmark across India.

Furthermore, Atishi alleged that the Lieutenant Governor’s office is now working as a proxy of the BJP, causing damage to the lives of ordinary people. She emphasized that the people of Delhi have repeatedly shown their faith in the government and Arvind Kejriwal, who has been repeatedly elected to work in their interest.

Atishi specifically mentioned the Mahila Samman Yojana, a scheme aimed at uplifting and empowering women in Delhi. She expressed personal anguish over Saxena’s recent steps to malign and create hurdles for the scheme, highlighting the harmful politicization of the Lieutenant Governor’s office.

In conclusion, Atishi urged Saxena to let go of petty politics and focus on fostering collaboration and enabling the government to fulfill its promises to the people. She emphasized the need to respect the people’s mandate and prioritize their aspirations above all else.
